1 N Post St. • Hotel Lusso • (509) 789-6900
The new public house, in the historic Whitten block next to Hotel Lusso, made its debut in October 2009 on the exciting downtown dining scene. Highlights of the new establishment include 20 rotating beers on tap, most entrees under $10, seven 55-inch LED television sets with breakthrough picture quality, and complimentary WiFi throughout.
"We're offering comfortable food at comfortable prices," says owner and proprietor, Walt Worthy, who together with his wife Karen, purchased the building in May. "We hope to be the place where people go downtown for a good business lunch, a beer with friends after work or a place to catch a game on TV. You can't beat the location downtown or the prices."
Menu items range from typical pub fare (fish and chips) to unique items not available elsewhere in Spokane (fried pickles). Both booth and table seating are available. The restaurant welcomes all ages (bar is 21+) and is family friendly. A private hallway connects to the Hotel Lusso next door.
The Post Street Ale House is walking distance to the many downtown offices and condominiums. Framed historical photos on the walls show downtown Spokane scenes, including the Great Fire of 1889, various street views and significant buildings, including the Review tower and The Davenport Hotel -- from which large ceiling lamps were salvaged during its restoration that now hang in the Post Street Ale House.
